Wow what a gem of a home nestled in the hills and mountains. The photos on this listing do not do this home justice. The home is spacious inside and out. We especially loved the open fire of an evening after being out all day! Our youngest made the most of the garden. Very clean and absolutely everything you’d need. A few recommendations if you are on holiday here include Meeting of the Waters in Avoca, Dublin Zoo and Sealife, all within 90 minutes drive from Askanagap. Playground and wonderful walks around the cottage, so much to see and do, I could write a book about it, hopefully we’ll be back soon.

The fruit cake was delicious too. We hadn’t stayed in this part of Wicklow before and we enjoyed visiting Aughrim, Avoca and Wicklow Town whilst also spending a day in Bray (the kids loved it) and a trip to Kia Ora mini farm. The views from your cottage are amazing and Chris and Cara were made very welcome when they went to watch a football blitz on the GAA pitch. We will return and of course recommend to family and friends!

Weather on the whole good, although we did have a couple of torrential downpours, but Ireland wouldn’t be so green without a little rain!

The owners, John & Julie have clearly put an amazing amount of effort into ensuring that their guests have the best holiday experience possible. Recognising it takes a few days to "find your feet" in a new area, they have included recommendations of places to eat, places to walk and to visit whilst becoming accustomed to Askanagap and Wicklow. The phrase "home from home" is often over used - it is inescapably the right words for the care and attention that they have put into ensuring that the cottage has everything imaginable to ensure the comfort and every possible need of the guest is catered for. The owners live across the road from the cottage and are keen to be available to answer questions, attend to any need that may arise, or just give advice on things to see and do, but only if the guests need it. We had an immensely enjoyable holiday in the cottage and would hastily recommend a stay here, couples or families are assured of a wonderful time.

Had the best time, the people of Ireland have the warmest hearts. Our boys made friends with the locals at the drop of a hat and loved learning to play GAA football with them. What a lovely stay we had this week. Thank you John for your warm and welcoming hospitality, We have visited a lot of places this week but so much we haven’t seen – we will be back. The children very much enjoyed the playhouse and swings in the garden. Any families visiting, the fun park Clara Lara is fantastic! If you have a rainy day, Diamond Bowl in Wicklow is reasonably priced. Great food at The Bridge Tavern in Wicklow. Arklow has a good Shopping Centre and cinema. Bray is a nice seaside town with Sealife Centre. See you again!
